Giant's Causeway

If you have never seen a photo of Giant's Causeway, STOP RIGHT NOW and google it!  You will THERE IS NO WAY that is 'nature-made?'

And when you see it in person, you will repeat the thought again and again.  How clever is nature that it takes thousands of ballast rocks and puts them into such amazing octagons so that it appears they have been sliced at similar thickness and stacked one on top of the other?   It is nothing short of breathtaking.  The 'steps' begin high on the hill top and cascade down until they disappear from sight into the North Irish Sea.

Legend has it that the Irish giant, Finn McCool, created the Causeway so he could walk over to Scotland and wrestle the Scottish giant.

This stop should definitely be on everyone's bucket list but be smarter than I and take the bus down and back.  It's a long walk  . . . .  beautiful, but long and down/uphill.

Next to the Welcome Center, sits the Causeway Hotel.  A beautiful period hotel with a dining room open to the public.  I stopped for some Irish tea and toast.  I wouldn't mind being a guest here and catching the sunrise over the Causeway.

Yours truly standing next to the Causeway pillars.  Others were up and walking on top of them. There is even a trail on the mountain for an amazing view down onto the Causeway. Not me - I don't need anything else to go wrong!

Now it's time for Dunluce Castle, a 16th Century ruin.
