Cedar Lakes Woods
and Gardens
While visiting my daughter in North Florida, we drove to Williston, Florida to walk Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens.
I told you I love (1) photography, especially nature and (2) dappled sunshine. My other favorite thing is dragonflies/damselflies. They are the most amazing creatures. They are hatched in muck but rise to the heavens with such grace and colors! Did you know that dragonflies are symbols of good luck in many cultures throughout the world and a sign of strength for cancer survivors?
We walked throughout the woods and gardens for approximately 3 hours amazed by all the flora and fauna. Yes, of course, I took too many photos of plants, waterfalls, elusive butterflies and patient dragonflies.
The entry fee is very reasonable - $12 for adults, $10 for seniors.

On what you think is ground level is actually the top of the woods and gardens. You walk through woods down to the 'bottom' and the water.

Swans mate for life. This sweet girl's mate died last year and they will introduce a new mate next year. Swans, just like humans, need time to grieve.

All the dragonflies I found were blue! But at least a dragonfly will pose for you. One reason to love dragonflies is, like bats, they eat mosquitos.
Butterflies are so fast moving from one flower to another. Monarchs and Swallowtails love milkweed plant blossoms. They also lay eggs on the plant and when the eggs hatch, you have caterpillars. The caterpillars will decimate an entire plant in a very short time.
